I’ve been writing about twin flames for several years now, and in that time, I’ve heard literally thousands of twin flame stories. If I had a nickel for every time someone told me my twin flame doesn’t want me, I’d have a whole bunch of nickels.

Hopefully, I’ll be able to help you understand why this happens, what it means and (perhaps most importantly) how you should handle it.

Why Does Your Twin Flame Not Seem to Want You?

If you’ve read into the twin flame journey (and I assume you have, at least partly if you’re here), then it can seem strange to feel like your twin flame doesn’t want you. Aren’t they supposed to be infatuated with you?

There are no two twin flames that are ever going to be exactly alike, but very, very few twins have an easy path toward union. The path generally contains a few twists, and that can manifest as feeling like they don’t want you.

  • Not every twin flame path starts with love, attraction, or even liking each other. The energy from that initial meeting is just that – energy, and sometimes this manifests in a way you wouldn’t expect. It’s less common, but sometimes, a twin flame journey starts with some negative energy.
  • You might have triggered a separation phase. Your twin flame is running because they don’t fully understand the journey that you’re on. Usually, this involves giving you (and themselves) an excuse that helps them frame the connection within a traditional 2D relationship to understand what’s going on.

Not Ready Yet

Suppose you sense that your twin flame seems aloof regarding the concept of a romantic commitment. In that case, it’s essential to recognize that they may not be poised for the transition to a serious relationship. Individuals sometimes grapple with commitment, not due to a lack of desire but because they may not feel primed to take that significant leap.

Feelings of hesitation can stem from numerous reasons — perhaps your twin flame is navigating the intricacies of a partnership or recovering from prior emotional wounds. This reluctance isn’t a reflection of their sentiments towards you but a personal journey they are undertaking.

During this phase, your instinct may sway them towards a relationship; however, it’s crucial to honor their current stance and refrain from exerting pressure. Although it might be challenging, especially given your intense connection, embracing patience is key.

Remember, the bond with your twin flame is potent, and when the moment is right, they’ll likely be inclined toward a relationship. Until then, continue to foster your own growth — your understanding may soon blow them away, and the progress you’ve both achieved individually can act as a transformative catalyst for your future together.

Circumstances Beyond Their Control

Your twin flame’s recent detachment could reflect their internal struggles, not a diminishment of their feelings for you. Consider the possibility that your counterpart is navigating personal hardships, which are temporarily overshadowing the connection you share.

  • Life’s challenges often lead to individual behavioral changes, impacting relationships.
  • Offer support and understanding rather than jumping to conclusions about their intentions.

Their need for you could be at its peak during these moments of adversity, requiring patience and compassion from your side. It’s crucial to focus on the strengths of the twin flame journey that binds you rather than letting doubts creep in.

Recall that the essence of your bond is not just romantic but also deeply rooted in friendship and mutual growth. Remember, this phase might be a test of your connection’s resilience and potential for enduring life’s obstacles, including those like an age gap or life changes that are part of your unique path.

They May Have Doubts

Encountering uncertainty within a twin flame connection isn’t unheard of.

Doubts can creep in, with your twin flame feeling unworthy of love or questioning the depth of your feelings. Such thoughts can lead to hesitation about the commitment and future of your bond. They may ponder over potential rejection, wondering if a life intertwined with yours is truly attainable.

  • Thoughts: Self-doubt and insecurity can cause your twin flame to re-evaluate the relationship.
  • Actions: These uncertainties may manifest as withdrawal or a hesitancy to engage deeply.
  • Communication: A breakdown in openly sharing feelings can contribute to the growing rift.
  • Arguments: Conflict can arise when insecurities are not addressed, compounding doubt.

It’s a matter of trust as well. When your twin flame harbors concerns about trust, whether it be in themselves or in you, it shakes the foundation. This could lead to considering an end to the relationship, fearing they might not find the fulfillment expected from such a profound connection. It is critical to address these concerns head-on; a lack of resolution may only exacerbate the situation, leading to a cycle where both parties feel disconnected and disillusioned.

Remember, the twin flame union is conceived as a source of mutual support and growth. Keeping lines of communication open and transparent can bridge the gap created by these doubts.

What Does This Mean for Your Twin Flame Journey?

It’s normal.

It doesn’t mean that you’re dealing with a false twin flame, and it’s not any kind of judgment on your journey together. Dealing with a separation phase just means that you both still have work to do before you’re ready for union.

This lies at the heart of every twin flame journey. It’s a path you both must follow and focus on your spiritual growth before being ready to reach the end together. You’ll likely come together and apart during that phase, and feeling like they don’t want you is merely a symptom of the current separation phase.

I know this might not seem that useful.

All it really means is that you’re not yet finished with the twin flame journey. I know (first-hand) how painful it can be when it feels like your twin flame doesn’t want you, but it’s incredibly common. What Should You Do About It?

Keep in mind that the runner and chaser dynamic of a twin flame journey can (and often does) switch. Even if you feel like your twin flame doesn’t want you now, further down the line, that might switch. I know it doesn’t feel like it now, but trust me, I’ve seen it repeatedly.

It’s not uncommon for your twin flame to harbor fears of emotional closeness. Reflect on their past—rejection or pain from previous relationships may lead to an instinct to avoid deep connections. This emotional self-defense can manifest as reluctance or hesitance to engage in a romantic union with you.

  • Insecurities: Often, views of themselves as undeserving or anxieties about value can make twin flames shy away from intimacy.
  • Giving Space: Offering them room to process their feelings can be beneficial. It demonstrates respect for their experience and autonomy.

The journey to intimacy with your twin flame may require patience. When they are ready, facing and overcoming their fears may lead to a rejuvenated commitment to the relationship.

Chris

After struggling with my own twin flame journey for many years I became (I'll say it) almost obsessed with the twin flame journey and this path of self-discovery and improvement.

Now after sharing the stories of thousands of people going through their own journey I want to share my own thoughts and the patterns I see on twin flames.

I'm wary of speaking in absolutes on a subject like this. There's too much that any of us will really ever *know* (at least in this lifetime) so my opinions are based on my experience and the experience of those I speak to and who share their stories with me.

There are no two journeys that are ever going to be entirely alike but when you see enough of them, you do see definite patterns emerge.
